Kathmandu, Students from the Bachelor in Civil Engineering program at Aryan School of Engineering, Mid-Baneshwor, Kathmandu, recently conducted an educational field visit to the Nepal Eco Panel factory in Jhaukhel, Bhaktapur. The visit aimed to provide practical exposure to EPS-cement-based lightweight sandwich panels, a modern and sustainable construction material.
Guided by Er. Krishna Sunder Kumpakha, an Earthquake Engineering graduate, the students explored the technical aspects, production process, and real-life applications of prefabricated panels used in contemporary construction.
Nepal Eco Panel, Nepal’s only prefabricated panel manufacturer certified with three international ISO standards, has become a key learning hub for civil engineering students. The visiting group studied the panels’ composition, manufacturing methods, engineering properties, and usage in earthquake-resilient and sustainable structures.
“This visit helped us connect classroom theories with real-world applications,” shared one of the students. The hands-on experience bridged the gap between academic learning and practical implementation.
The CEO of Nepal Eco Panel stated, “Every year, students from various engineering colleges across Nepal visit our facility to understand the innovative techniques behind our panels. We take pride in supporting the education of future engineers.”
Such collaborations between academia and industry not only enrich student learning but also promote awareness of green, efficient, and earthquake-resilient technologies in Nepal’s construction sector.
