Seneca Education Consultancy Presents: Girls U-19 Basketball

Kathmandu – In a bid to revitalize youth sports and promote female participation in basketball, Seneca Education Consultancy is set to host the first-ever U-19 Girls’ Basketball League. The league, which aims to be a long-term commitment from the organizers, will feature six teams and will run for 10 weeks, fostering a new level of competition and camaraderie among young female athletes.

The tournament, titled “Growth Cost Game and Game Cost Team,” is exclusively for players born in 2006. The registration for the league will open on September 1, with teams required to submit a team birth certificate by September 2. To ensure fair play, the organizers will accept registrations on a “first come, first served” basis for a maximum of six teams.

Event Details and Objectives

With a total budget of NRs. 300,000 allocated, the league promises an intensive schedule. Each team is guaranteed 10 matches, with a total of 41 matches planned for the entire season. The top two teams at the end of the league stage will compete in a grand finale. The champions will be awarded a cash prize and gift hampers.

Seneca Education Consultancy’s involvement marks a significant step, as the company aims to be a continuous supporter of basketball. The league’s primary objectives are to:

  • Raise the bar for sports existence.
  • Sharpen team-level skills and passion.
  • Provide a platform for young athletes to showcase their talent.
  • Monitor and support the growth of teams.
  • Increase the visibility and appreciation for basketball among youth.

The organizers are actively seeking sponsors to support the event. Sponsorship benefits include brand visibility through various displays, direct engagement with the public, frequent name announcements, and extensive publicity across social media platforms.

The event is expected to create an atmosphere of high energy and excitement. The organizers emphasize the importance of discipline and harmony among all participants and teams. They also hope to receive support from senior members of the sports community to help nurture a strong sports culture. An insurance policy will also be in place to cover any injuries sustained during the games.

League Schedule and Key Events

The league will officially begin on September 6. A series of preparatory events are scheduled to kick things off:

  • September 1-2: Team registration and document submission.
  • September 3-4: Team captains and coaches will be introduced, followed by an elaboration on team expectations.
  • September 5: The official match schedule will be released.
  • September 6: A grand opening ceremony will take place at 3:30 PM, featuring a welcome speech by a chief guest, a curtain-raising ceremony, and a team introduction.

The games will be meticulously documented, with pre- and post-game interviews, scoreboard updates, and video clips of every match. The finale will be a grand affair, with special announcements, trophy displays, and a photo shoot for the champions.

Among the participating clubs and colleges are Saipal Club, Golden Gate Club, Valley Public Ballers Academy, Chelsea International College, and NIMS Club, showcasing a diverse and competitive lineup for the league.
