Kathmandu . Himani Trust, a non-profit and apolitical non-governmental organisation, has donated educational materials and medical equipment to over 3,700 students in Gorkha district.
The beneficiaries belong to 40 students in Gorkha Municipality, Bhimsen Thapa Rural Municipality, Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality, Palungtar Municipality and Dharche Rural Municipality, said the programme coordinator for the Trust, Mohasin Alimiya.
The distributed materials include exercise books, colour boxes, stationery boxes, pens, health bags, lunchboxes, water bottles, facemasks, soaps, toothpastes, toothbrushes, bandages and friendship cards.
The China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation, a charity organisation based in China, provided the materials for the Trust that was established in 2010 under the leadership of former crown princess Himani Shah.
