Gandaki Province Government prioritises accessible health care services: Chief Minister

Gandaki, Chief Minister of Gandaki Province Krishna Chandra Nepali Pokharel has said the Gandaki Province Government has prioritised to ensure accessible health care services in all community.

Inaugurating a building of primary health care services in Galkot Municipality-5, Baglung, on Thursday, the Chief Minister pledged to ensure specialist health care services to the folk in the rural areas by deploying specialist health personnel after providing them with incentive. He, however, noted that human resource management was a key challenge.

On the occasion, he shared that the Gandaki Province Government has issued health policy to strengthen health care sector and was working in the social sector beside development of the physical infrastructures.

Expressing their views on the occasion, Province Assembly Member Piyari Thapa, Mayor of Galkot Municipality Bharat Sharma Gaire, Deputy Mayor Renu Kumari Kauchha Magar and others drew attention of the Chief Minister for the sustainable and effective management of the health care there.

The hospital has 15 bed facilities and was constructed at the cost of Rs 70 million. Currently, 14 officials including two medical officers are providing health care services to as high as 1,200 patients every month.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pokharel, who is also a Nepali Congress leader, has urged the party cadres to remain active to secure party’s strong position in the upcoming polls from local to federal elections.

Leader Pokharel said so while addressing the party cadres in different political events in Baglung on Thursday.
